Midwest Derecho Storm Update

By Kyle Klingler , Wed, 08/12/2020 - 23:17

UPDATE Thursday, August 20, 2020

Thankfully, we are back on city power. The cleanup continues in our town, but most everyone has power and limited internet. We have rushed all the orders out and have caught up. Thank you again for your patience and understanding!

Here is a picture of before and after the storm. The corn crops were flattened, along with houses and trees. Marshalltown is just above Des Moines to the right.

UPDATE Monday, August 17, 2020

We are back to work! We were able to get a generator to keep us powered until they restore permanent power. We are seeing some delays from local suppliers and other services, so we are not fully up to speed.

So far it's looking like about a week to week and a half delay on orders placed August 5-20, 2020. We are prioritizing the oldest first. It's expected that we have a 2-3 days before we are at full speed and we will be working extra to catch up. Our team is the best, so you should not have to worry about much of a wait.

Please reach out to us with any questions. And thank you for all of your kind messages and understanding!

August 12, 2020

It seems like updates are a new trend. We were hit with a severe storm on Monday they are calling the Midwest Derecho storm. Basically, it is a Tornado without the spinning, or you could say, an inland hurricane. They say it was a 40 mile wide, 100 mile long tornado like storm. We have heard they were 106 mph winds. All I know, it was scary. It has taken out power to a good portion of Iowa, including our whole town. This has been a major disaster for our area.

Vision Art headquarters is safe and all of our VA team is safe. Our team has suffered some damage to their homes, and of course, have been without power. We will add this blog to the "Events" category.

As of today, we do not have power or internet (see photo). We don't have a concrete answer as to when power and internet will be back up. They are telling us by the end of the week.

As of today, all current orders will be delayed one week. Orders may be placed but uploads will not work currently. You may can use any cloud storage and add the link to your order. In the meantime, we have some remote workers answering emails, phones, and taking orders. Once we are back up and running, we will be full speed ahead and get the orders out asap.

We had planned on starting a sale on Monday, August 17th. We may postpone that sale, but we will keep you updated.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Thank you so much for your understanding and nice comments on our social media feeds. We have the best clients hands down!Â
